Beautiful Stitches in Seattle
Westminster Chapel, Bellevue: May 17-19, 2018
I am so excited to have the opportunity to teach two workshops in Seattle in May. My very warmest thanks to SpaceNeedlers ANG for inviting me to meet lots of lovely new stitching friends in the USA. These workshops are being run in memory of Beverly Winters, long time SpaceNeedler and stitching friend to many. They are open to everyone – ANG members, EGA members and anyone who just loves to stitch. Come along and join in the fun!
Not only is this my first time teaching in the USA, it is also your exclusive opportunity to be the first students to do these workshops. If you can’t make it to Seattle, don’t panic! You can be a Ghost Stitcher. On this page you will find all the information you need. The registration deadline is April 1, 2018. If you have any queries, please don’t hesitate to contact me via email here.
Sheep’s Silk Sewing Kit: Thursday May 17
This project creates a beautiful matched pair of needle case and pin keep. It is worked entirely in 50% silk/50% wool threads by The Thread Gatherer on 18-count canvas. These threads combined with both twisty and traditional needlepoint stitches give a lovely textured finish to your stitching. The cost is US$90 per person (for Ghost Stitchers, add $7 for shipping). We are offering you a choice of 5 different coloured canvases and 3 different thread colourways.
In this 2-day workshop you will have your choice of up to 6 different blocks to create your own unique design. The blocks are all the same size and thus fully interchangeable. Four blocks include a combination of traditional and twisty needlepoint stitches; one is based on blackwork embroidery; and one charts the word “LOVE”. You will have the choice of either white or eggshell canvas and two different thread colourways using my own hand-dyed pure silk threads. The cost for this workshop will be $145 (for Ghost Stitchers, add $7 for shipping).
